"This was a really nice 2 hour sail in Key Largo. The staff was very nice when we booked that morning via telephone and were ready for us when we got there. It turned out we were the only 2 people signed up but they took us anyway. (A previously booked sail in Key West wouldn't take the boat out with under 6 people.) Captain John was very knowledgeable and we had a pleasant time talking with him. We got to steer the boat while he raised and lowered the sails and since we were the only couple we were able to drive the boat most of the time. We were able to bring anything we wanted to drink or snack on. The sunset was beautiful. I would recommend this sail."

Great value, and a wonderful capstone to our week in the keys
Captain Dave was our skipper, and he alone made the experience worth the cost of admission. Spending the day aboard the Pirates Choice under full sail off the coast of the keys was very memorable, and Dave is more that willing to teach you as much about sailing as you can absorb.
Out weather conditions were iffy for snorkeling, but we all came of the boat very satisfied none the less. Given the cost of a 2-hour snorkel tour on a overcrowded power boat, the extra few dollars for less than 6 people for over 4 hours on a sailing vessel is really a no-brainer.

One of our best decisions while here
Johnny was our captain. He's a young guy local to the area. He grew up on the sea and we could tell we were in good hands. Once the engines were cut it was a nice silent ride with one other couple. We all had a great time, leaned quite a bit about the local area and really enjoyed a terrific sunset. I not only recommend it, next time I'm here on vacation I am definitely doing it again.

"We came upon the African Queen attraction quite by accident on my husband's birthday. We were the only two on the boat along with Captain Mike. Absolutely loved our ride and enjoyed all the movie pictures and trivia Captain Mike shared. So much fun riding on the actual boat used in one of our all time favorite movies!!!"

"Yes, this is the African Queen from the Bogart/Hepburn movie! She has been restored to her movie star glory and outfitted with a real steam engine. Just watching and listening to it puts you right in the movie. We sailed on her on June 21 and it was the highlight of our quickie vacation to the upper keys. The captain was very knowledgeable about the boat and the movie and had lots of pictures from the production which gives you a lot of background about the movie. I will not give you any spoilers. I will say this, if you politely ask him, he may let you steer!"

"Stayed in Key Largo to experience the African Queen. We watched the movie before the ride and it made the trip even better. I have always been a fan of the movie. The trip is great listening to the engine clanking along and the highlight came when Captain Mike let me pilot her out of the canal into the ocean. On our next trip back I will go again just for the boat ride. It was a wonderful experience."
